Professor Albert C Kelly IIIInstructor Bio:Masters in Science, Computer Information Systems (UOP)Bachelors in Science, Aeronautics (ERAU)Associates, Industrial Training Methodologies (CCAF)MCSA, MCSE 2000/2003, A+, Network +, IAM, IEM, MCTEmail address: akelly@uat.eduI have been a full time Professor at the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) since January of 2002. Teaching a variety of Microsoft certification courses through the Professional Development Center and degreed courses in UAT’s Network Engineering and Security programs.Prior to UAT, I had a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force. During the first 12 years or so I worked as a jet engine mechanic on a variety of aircraft. Getting my hands dirty. While the rest of my career I worked in Field Training as a Master Aircraft Trainer, delivering technical training course on F-15 & F16 aircraft engines.During my last tour in the US Air Force (Nellis AFB, NV), I was assigned the additional duty of Security Officer. During the late 80’s, these duties would encompass Physical (OPSEC), Telecommunication (COMSEC), and Computer (INFOSEC) security. The concept of information assurance was a new field for the military. Data that was stored on the hard drives or floppies was thought safe as long as you had good physical security. The military’s focus concerning computers and telecommunication security was centered on electronic emissions, a project code named TEMPEST.After retirement, I continued in the professional training arena working for a privately owned computer training company located in Las Vegas. During those days I had the opportunity to meet numerous professionals in both the casino gaming and computer technical industry. One such association lead to my first career change as a civilian, I was offered a position to head the Information Technology office of the largest Title Escrow Company in Nevada. Here I was exposed to both IBM RS6000 and PC networks (Novel). After this I was offered an opportunity to return to the aircraft-training field, working for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company, later Boeing. In the past 35 years I have lived on numerous continents and in various countries. My latest adventure was an 18-month sabbatical in the Middle East competed in the fall of 2007. Which included many beautiful countries such as: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. While this may seem extraordinary to some, I am no stranger to the middle east. I had spent over 6 years living in the eastern providence of Saudi Arabia during the mid 90’s up until 2001. During that time, I managed the F-15 Fighter Weapons School’s networks and training systems, perform fighter tactics documentation, conducted course development, delivered countless F-15 training classes, and wrote custom software documentation and end user manuals.I have had a passion for technology for as long as I can remember. I attended my first programming class in high school (a long time ago). I can't say that after all this time that I can remember a thing about FORTRAN or COBOL programming languages, but those classes fueled my desire to pursue a variety of careers in technology.I have been a teacher and learner in one field or another for over 35 years, and still love it. I am a true hardware geek and love to scrutinize and sometimes buy the latest and greatest tech toys available
