We are really excited that you are interested in trying your hand at Android™ development with hopes of winning the scholarship! For those of you who have not had the opportunity to work Android™ SDK yet, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. A lot of thought has been put into the design of the SDK. Android™ promotes good design practices by making it easy for you to separate the view from the logic and model of your program. I encourage you to read about the intended usage of the framework (http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/fundamentals.html) before developing your program. There are many other great resources on the internet where you can find tutorials and answers to common problems. One resource I’ve found exceptionally helpful is http://www.anddev.org/index.php?c=8 , which is a very active forum that discusses Android™ development topics and also contains some very useful tutorials.
